Brookline, Massachusetts saw serious crime drop by over 12 percent in 2013, according to recently released police report.
No murders occurred in Brookline in 2013, according to the report. There were only 13 robberies, a 54 percent decrease from the prior year. Assaults, also declined 26 percent to 131. Yet there were six rapes were reported in 2013.
Violent crimes decreased to 150 in 2013, down from 208 in 2012. The annual statement released by Brookline Police indicates that crime is at a current low. Major crimes have decreased 61 percent in twenty years.
Stolen vehicles increased to 20 in 2013, up from 18 in 2012. There were 100 burglaries, down from 129. Larcenies declined as well. There were 609 in 2013, down from 640 in 2012.
Arrests decreased in 2013. In 2012, there were 916 arrests. In 2013, there were 888. Traffic violations increased to 24.799, a 12 percent increase. Brookline Police issued 127,962 in 2013, a 9 percent decline. In 2012, 141,401 parking tickets were issued, sad the report.
