A 24 year-old man named Christopher Wallace was wanted for burglary in central Maine. He was able to avoid arrest until his hiding spot was revealed via snapchat. The Associated Press has reported that people had been searching for Wallace ever since January.
Wallace reportedly stole a cast iron wood stove and propane cook stove from a camp that is located in Pierce Pond Township. Last Sunday, Wallace posted on his snapchat that he had returned home to Fairfield. The information was sent to police, and the authorities showed up at Wallace’s home.
At first, the police officers were not able to find Wallace at his home. However, Wallace posted another snapchat saying that the police were at his home looking for him, and he was hiding from them in the cabinet.
The Somerset County Sheriff’s Department posted details of the arrest on Facebook. They said that they had opened the kitchen cabinet and found food, pans, pots and feet. The feet happened to belong to the person they were looking for, Christopher Wallace. The officers removed Wallace from the cabinet and placed him under arrest.
Wallace has been charged with violation of the conditions of release, theft and burglary. Twenty-year old Erika Hall was also arrested. She has been charged with hindering apprehension. She told police officers that Wallace was not at the house. She also told them that Wallace had not been at the house for weeks.
