ormer Pennsylvania Common Pleas Judge Paul Pozonsky has been charged criminally for stealing drug evidence while on the sitting on the bench. He has been charged with both drug possession and larceny.
Pozonsky stepped off the bench in 2012 as the Pennsylvania State Police began an investigation into evidence tampering. The police were investigating evidence that had either gone missing or had been tampered with. The police investigation revealed that Pozonsky had required that the police bring evidence containing drugs usually cocaine, (a class b substance in Massachusetts) to his courtroom where he or his staff took possession of it. Once the police brought the drug evidence to the judge the judge would keep it.
Before his resignation former Judge Pozonsky ordered the evidence that had been seized in drug cases destroyed. Prior to his arrest on the drug charges he was a worker’s compensation hearing officer in Alaska.
