A Milton Massachusetts mansion owner will be in Quincy District Court for his role in hosting a party. Steven Mathieu of 4 Mark Lane hosted a party on September 1, 2012 that was promoted on Twitter a “Make it Nasty’ Party. Milton police responded to noise complaints at around 1 am where they dispersed a crowd of up to 1500 people. Police had received complaints on the amount of cars parked in the neighborhood there were over 350 cars parked on the street. It took police 1 and a half hours clearing people out of the house. According to an investigation Mr. Mathieu, charged $15 -$20 for admission and was charging for alcohol. In the days leading up to the party, fliers advertising the party were circulated on Twitter. One, featuring a picture of a woman in a bikini, said the party would go from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., that bottle service would be offered, and that pool wear was “a must.”
Charging for alcohol is illegal in Massachusetts and is punishable by a criminal conviction. This is a clear violation of liquor laws in Massachusetts and a clear violation of zoning laws.
