A 5-foot-7, 260-pound intoxicated man was recently arrested by police for public lewdness, which resulted from his being completely nude in the front yard of his home. According to the police report, 69-year-old Richard Capra, of 437C Lake Street, was outside of his home performing yard work and using a leaf blower less than 20 feet from a public road in clear view of motorists. He was also completely nude at the time, which caused the motorist to slow down, with some even taking photographs. Several motorists notified the police department of Capra’s condition around 3:42 p.m.
When police responded to the call, they indeed found Capra nude and extremely intoxicated. They also noted that cars were slowing to view the incident and that many were photographing Capra. As the responding officers attempted to question Capra, he became very belligerent and police were forced to placed him under arrest. They provided him clothing to put on before taking him to the police station. Capra was charged with open and gross lewdness after begin arraigned in the Westboro District Court and was later released on $500 bail.
This wasn’t the first time that Capra has been in trouble with the law. In fact, he has two other recent cases that are still open in the court system. The first incident occurred on June 28th when he was stopped for speeding and was subsequently charged with driving with a suspended license. The second incident occurred on August 5th after he was stopped while driving and was subsequently charged with a variety of traffic violations. Among the numerous violations were several equipment violations, a marked lanes violation, a license plate violation, driving with a suspended license and driving a vehicle that was not registered. All three of Capra’s open cases have been held over for continuance until August 15th.
