On January 3, 2014 on Des Moines Iowa’s East Side two brothers, both in their 50s, got into an argument over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that quickly escalated. The brothers, who both live together, confronted each other about laziness and overeating.
Jerome Davis, one of the brothers, was arrested after allegedly brandishing a weapon. The argument began when the accuser became upset after watching his brother Jerome consume too many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Supposedly Davis prepared himself three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. He then consumed the sandwiches in the living room the brothers share. Allegedly, less than sixty minutes later he returned to the kitchen to make himself another sandwich. That’s when the situation escalated out of control.
Davis purportedly whipped out a folding knife and then held it against his brother’s face. Davis was then arrested and charged with domestic abuse with a weapon.
The police confiscated two folding knives from Davis. Davis explained to law enforcement officers that the argument ensued because his sibling refused to “shut the (expletive) up and mind his own business.” Following the altercation and the arrest Davis was taken into custody and transported to Polk County Jail
