Northern California authorities arrested a man who is thought to have committed armed robbery. The man is thought to have committed the crime after police viewed a Snapchat photograph he was in. He posed for the selfie next to his victim. The incident is thought to have taken place at 1:12 on Wednesday morning.
According to KNTV, police in Pacific Grove have made on arrest on Victor Almanza-Martinez, who is 18 years of age. He resides in Castroville. They’re currently looking for a pair of other individuals who are thought to have been involved in the crime, as well.
The police indicate that the young man (alongside the other suspects) went up to four people in a car on Wednesday. This occurred at Lovers Point Park on Ocean View Boulevard in Pacific Grove. He reportedly stole numerous possessions from them, with a car being just one example. He did this after using a gun to force them to exit the vehicle.
Victor Almanza-Martinez and the other other individuals escaped from the scene by driving away in the car they stole. The car as of now is still lost. They didn’t depart the scene immediately, however. Almanza-Martinez, prior to leaving, gave a female victim his Snapshot details. They also took a selfie as a pair. Almanza-Martinez sent the female victim the image right before he escaped.
Authorities note that the photograph enabled them to easily find the exact whereabouts of Almanza-Martinez. The man has been given an armed robbery charge. He’s also been given a kidnapping charge. He’s presently at the Monterey County Jail on hold. His bail is $170,000.
