A Fort Pierce, FL, woman stabbed her fiance in the presence of her own child after he refused to drive her to a liquor store, Orlando’s WESH-TV reports.
Police say that Melissa Bopp, 36, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault after they received a call from the boyfriend, Cedric Henry.
A Fort Bierce police report notes that Bopp had asked Henry to drive her to a liquor store in order to purchase some alcohol. Henry refused to do so, saying that he did not want to drive while intoxicated. Almost immediately afterward, Bopp pulled out what Henry called a “large knife” and stabbed him. The report states that Bopp’s child witnessed the attack. Henry was later taken to a hospital for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.
Henry’s grandmother told police that Henry and Bopp had been planning to get married next week.
