According to the Rhode Island State Police, a husband and his wife were arrested and charged with OUI on the same night. Apparently, the husband was arrested while on his way to bail out his wife.
The husband, Michael Souza, 44 of Warwick Rhode Island was stopped in Lincoln where he was driving to pick up his Stephanie Souza 43. Mrs. Souza had been arrested earlier in Cranston for DUI.
Both the husband and wife took a breathalyzer that showed both were operating under the influence.
Getting charged with operating under the influence is a serious event. The penalties and fees with a dui are huge. The losses of driving privileges are also severe. The lesson here is not to do even to bail out a spouse. Now both will be unable to drive.
