Two supervisors from the scandal ridden Massachusetts State Crime lab in Jamaica Plain have been placed on suspension. The lab was recently ordered closed by Governor Patrick as a result of an investigation that revealed mishandling of evidence. One chemist has already been fired and now two supervisors are accused of cover up for the chemist. The chemist is alleged to have doctored her log book.
The supervisors are accused of covering up for the rogue chemist. One day after being notified of the problems the supervisors wrote a letter to the Norfolk County District Attorney stating that the problems have been solved. Clearly the problems existed and were not solved. The Massachusetts Attorney General is now investigating.
The state lab is trusted with testing all illegal drugs confiscated by the police from across the state. The testimony of a chemist is needed to obtain any type of drug conviction. Without the testimony of the chemist there is no testimony of an illegal act.
If you or someone you know has been convicted of a drug crime you need to speak to a lawyer now. Even if you are through with probation you may have a chance at erasing that conviction. Call Attorney Patrick Donovan today.
