State Troopers called the client.  She admitted to taking the glasses. She later returned the glasses. She had no criminal record and no explanation for why she took the glasses. She had a show cause hearing in front of the clerk magistrate. Attorney Donovan successfully argued not to have the complaint issue.

CASE DISMISSED.

Burlington

The client is charged with Larceny Over $250, which is a felony after he was seen taking items from a store in the Burlington Mall. He had no prior record and had a professional job. Attorney Donovan negotiated with the Assistant District Attorney to get the charges dismissed on court costs.

Cambridge, MA

Client an 18-year-old high school student was alleged to have shoplifted from a store in Cambridge. The store owner was enraged (to put it lightly) and attended the Clerks Magistrates’ Hearing. He was adamant that he wanted the charges to issue against the client and for the client to have a criminal record as a result. Attorney Donovan successfully argued that the clerk should not issue the criminal charges.  As a result the client has no criminal record

Quincy

Client is a medical doctor applying for employment. She had tried to exchange merchandise she did not buy in a local Walmart. Client admitted to the shoplifting to loss prevention officers. Charged was Dismissed.

Quincy

Client a middle aged Doctor was charged with shoplifting by asportation after he was caught stealing at a local supermarket. While at the supermarket the client placed very expensive batteries in his pocket and left the store. He later admitted to police that he took the items. At a show cause hearing Attorney Donovan successfully argued that clerk should dismiss the charges.

Hingham

Client a medical doctor entered in the Whole Foods Market and filled her cart with over $300 worth of goods. She then left the store going past all of the cashiers. She was stopped in the parking lot putting the stolen goods in her car. Client spoke with the loss prevention officers and admitted to stealing the goods. She was originally summonsed to an arraignment but Attorney Donovan was able to have the case remanded back to the clerk’s office for a show cause hearing. At the show cause hearing, Attorney Donovan was able to argue that clerk should not issue the charges. The clerk did not issue the charges and the client has no criminal record.

Client an older grandmother was caught shoplifting clothes from a downtown department store on her lunch hour. Client admitted to store employees she took the items without paying. She was summoned to a clerk’s hearing. Attorney Donovan successfully argued that the complaint should not issue. The clerk did not issue the charge and the client has no criminal record and never had to go back to court.

Shoplifting over $100 – The client was caught stealing clothes from a luxury store at the South Shore Plaza. Client was given a show cause hearing and even though the client admitted to stealing well over $500 worth of clothes the clerk did not issue the complaint. The client has no criminal record and the case was dismissed.
