Despite the fact that she claims to not drink alcohol, 24-year-old Katie Bowman has been stopped 54 times in the past year under the suspicion of driving under the influence. None of these instances resulted in Bowman being charged with a DUI.
Bowman claims that these occurrences directly resulted in her losing her job as a paramedic, and that the instances were all in response to a complaint she filed against the Thames Valley Police Department. Bowman did not specify what her original complaint was about. Bowman has now made additional complaints to the department in regards to these multiple stops.
The Thames Valley Police Department has taken action against the officers in question. The department reported that, while Bowman’s claims of harassment weren’t true or substantiated, disciplinary action will be taken against any offending officer.
